Peradi Ensemble

Peradi Ensemble is a polyphonic and multilingual vocal collective formed in Istanbul in 2019 by nine women. The group’s name comes from the Georgian word peri, meaning “color,” from which Peradi is derived, signifying “multicolored.” For the ensemble, these colors represent not only sounds, but also the diversity of cultures, languages, memories, and emotions.

Their repertoire spans folk songs from Anatolia, the Balkans, and the Caucasus, extending to musical traditions from around the world. Peradi Ensemble performs in nearly 25 languages, including Turkish, Georgian, Laz, Mingrelian, Bulgarian, Bosnian, Kurdish, Arabic, Ladino, Pontic Greek, Romanian, and French. They reinterpret these melodies through their own vocal approach, combining polyphonic arrangements with traditional instruments in live performance.
